What are these SUBCON REMIXES?
Simply, cEvin Key has invited his Patreon members to participate in remixing tracks
or stems that he provides. Remixers submit their creations with the only rules concerning length and BPM, free to use and abuse the source in ways that
have resulted in a dynamic range of directions.
From those submissions, cEvin weaves together megamixes, provides mastering, and generates visuals. The completed work gets an initial Patreon-only
livestream release before a later public release on his YouTube channel.
What is the history of the SUBCON REMIX series?
Originating in 2019 via cEvin Key's Patreon, active members of his Patreon were invited to participate in an epic remix opportunity.
The second remix, DANNY THINGY, featured drumming by Danny Carey (Tool, Green Jellÿ, Pigface). The remixes grew in number of remixers from
8 to 22 when REMIX 10 completed in 2021.
The REMIX project fell silent after REMIX 10 for a very good reasons, new projects and the 2023 Skinny Puppy: Final Tour!
In early 2023, cEvin formed a new project called NEKOFACE with SUBCON remixer
Eric Peterson (In Quantum) to record the soundtrack for the Emmy® Award winning
SILENT HILL: Ascension .
cEvin, Bill Leeb, and Rhys Fulber recorded a new Cyberaktiv album eNdgame which
also included contributions from Dre Robinson (Databomb) and SUBCON remixers Eric Peterson and
Guilhermes Pires (Aesthetische, Aghast View, Biopsy) .
The call went out for SUBCON REMIX 11 at the end of 2024. This return to the remixes culminated in a steady stream of eight remixes in 2025 often featuring
specific hardware, both vintage (Sequential Circuits Pro-One) and new (Roland TR-1000).

Left, 99¢ Special) multimedia company which he has run since 2000. And yes, this is he typing this now and referring to himself in third-person.
